Hi, all! We’re super excited to have you join us! Here’s important info regarding check-in and other fun important stuff!
 
Event Location & Time:
Saturday October 15, 2022, 10am-5pm
(early bird online ticket holders: 9:40am)

Check-in at Kids Con Booth in West Lobby:
  • Pre-show Setup: Fri Oct 14: 1:30pm-8:00pm (rooms lockup @8:15pm)
  • Event Day Setup: Sat Oct 15: 7:30am-9:40am
  • Convention rules, health & safety (masks not mandatory, vaccinations recommended)
Check-in first with us at the Kids Con booth in the hotel’s west wing lobby, via the ramp entrance. There are some hotel carts available to load/unload in the lobby. Your table will have your name badge on it and a wristband for your table buddy, but if you need assistance finding your table, a staff member will be available to help. We’ll also have the print program map at the table. 6ft tables are provided, includes two passes (1 badge and 1 wristband), two chairs, and tablecloth. Additional passes can be purchased online ahead or at the Kids Con booth Saturday morning. There is an additional load-in option in the back left side of the building, door connects into Artist & Author Alley. We ask that you please check-in with us first prior to setting up & sign our event poster! 🙂 Please refer to the EVENT MAP & ASSIGNMENTS.
 
Parking:
Lots of free on-site parking, and overflow at surrounding lots and across the street at the Maine Mall. You may park for a short time near the front or left side entrance to check-in and unload, but we kindly ask that you move your vehicle to the lower lot or nearby parking lots: Mattress Firm, Cracker Barrel, behind Tru by Hilton, or other surrounding businesses to make it more convenient and accessible for attendees and those with special mobility needs. All event space and activities are located on the main first floor, easily accessible with outdoor ramps leading directly into the event. There are handicapped spots available by the venue entrance.  
 
WIFI:
There is free open WIFI available at the hotel. Select “Lighthouse” in the wifi options. The hotel will also give us a password for additional wifi, which we will have printed at the Kids Con booth when you check-in / day of the show. Wifi in general isn’t always guaranteed connectivity. If you are using Square, it has an offline mode that should automatically enable and can use if needed.  Please let a staff member or the hotel front desk know if you are having trouble and we will do our best to sort it out.
ATM: in the east hotel lobby, business center. 
Workshops & Activities:
See Print Program / Online Schedule. If you are participating in an activity or workshop, please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the activity. Please notify a staff member if you need us to watch your table during the activity. Supplies provided: white paper, construction paper, pencils, crayons, rulers, hole punchers, safety scissors, tape, glue, tape, whiteboards with easel, paper plates, paper lunch bags, cardstock, dry erase markers, erasers and whiteboard cleaner. Please let us know if there’s something in particular not listed here that you need.
 
Scavenger Hunt:
We have a Scavenger Hunt on the back page of our print program. The kids will locate the books, art, games and more, ask for the creator’s signature, and then bring the completed list to the front tickets booth for a prize (while supplies last), and be entered in a raffle! 
 
Kids Con Cash:
As part of the prizes given to attendees, we have gift certificates of Kids Con Cash in $1 denominations which are used to purchase items from artists & vendors. At the end of the day, just bring the certificates up to the check-in/tickets booth desk and we will trade them for real cash. PLEASE make sure the certificate is valid, they are colored printed on glossy photo paper with shiny stickers – see image below. If you have any questions, please ask a staff member! Staff members will be wearing Kids Con staff badges.

Kids & Family Costume Contest:
Signups for kids & families to participate in the costume contests will be in the Lobby at the Check-in/Tickets Booth. Contest is in the Cumberland Ballroom at 3:20-4:00pm
 
Food
Stepping out is no problem! Simply show your wristbands to re-enter the event!

Hotel Lodging: 
Rooms are limited at the venue and discount period has passed, but there are  several hotels nearby, as well as in downtown Portland, ME, within 5mi from the venue. The hotel is pet friendly and service animals are welcome at the event.
